There are a lot of songstresses that I love to listen to. And this lady ranks right there near the top of that list. Like many others, I first became acquainted with Ms. Crawford when she belted out the vocals on The Crusaders’ mega-hit “Street Life” back in 1979. While as a solo artist she has never had a song in the Billboard Top 100 here in the United States, Randy has been much more successful in Europe where she’s had five Top 20 hits in the UK as well as six UK Top 10 albums.
I’ve featured her music in two other RIBS mixes over the years. The first one in a “Triple-Play” mix alongside Patrice Rushen and Stephanie Mills, and a follow-up to that mix entitled “More Randy Crawford”. I’ll see if I can re-post those efforts here soon.
UPDATE: Here is the link to the “More Randy Crawford” mix.
In the meantime, let’s envelope ourselves in the sweet vocalizations of Randy Crawford… even more!
