“Casper”. “Shorty”. “Lil’ Bit”. “Vanilla Child”. “Lady T”. To say that the news of the passing of Teena Marie came as a totally unexpected shock would be perhaps the understatement of the year.

Another one of the beautiful voices of the soundtrack of my life has been stilled. Now that the initial shock and sadness is starting to go away, we turn the page and remember the joy and happiness that she shared with us all over the past 30 years. To that effect, EJ (“The PodFather”) Flavors and your friendly, neighborhood Chief Chef here in the RIBS kitchen have teamed up and put together (what we hope you’ll consider) a worthy tribute to her.

All in all we have 5 mixes of music from Teena’s career for you today. The first three can be found over on EJ’s site here. He’s put together extensive playlists of her hits and your favorites from the requests ya’ll sent in. Over here on RIBS I’ve concentrated on many of the duets and collaborations that she’s done over the years, some of which you may not have heard before, and mixed in a few of my own personal favorites from her catalog of music.

Hey everybody! Not gonna ramble on too much here, just want to wish all of you a very happy and safe holiday during this Christmas season!

Over the past 3 years I’ve created a total of 13 different mixes of Christmas music that (hopefully) provide a pleasant musical soundtrack for you to enjoy during this most joyous time of the year. While I’m still working on trying to get a new Christmas mix finished for this year, I thought I would post the links to all of the existing mixes here in one convenient place for you to download.
