Cupid’s Hunt 2010: Whispers, Manhattans and Spinners - parts 1 and 2…

Hey! I hope everybody had a chance to check out all the fantastic mixes that made up the Cupid’s Hunt Podcast event. It was bigger and better than I think anyone ever expected.

Now, I know that “technically” the event is over… however I do have to sneak these last two CH mixes in here for ya’ll. You see, I learned a very valuable lesson during this year’s event: that a person cannot DJ a party AND collect the money at the door at the same time! {smile}. Originally I had these great plans to produce and post 5 mixes for Cupid’s Hunt: an all Stevie mix called Wonder-LOVE! (on Thursday the 11th); two mixes featuring The Whispers, The Manhattans & The Spinners (on Friday and Saturday); and two mixes featuring The Moments/Ray, Goodman & Brown, The Delfonics and The Main Ingredient (on Sunday the 14th; something I like to call a “double-triple” around here).

And then the event just blew up! (in a good way) I was initially hoping that maybe we could get as many as 20-22 folks to join Cupid’s Hunt this year, which would have been a decent increase over the 15-16 that participated last year. What I didn’t expect was the total of 39 different DJs/Podcasters dropping a total of 40 unique ‘casts for the event! To make a long story short, it was quite an effort to keep up with it all publishing and updating the master CH post on RIBS to make sure that everyone got the acknowledgment for their contribution. So… I never got the chance to finish/post my other four mixes. Like I have mentioned in some other conversations I’ve had, this was a ‘good’ problem to have to deal with. {smile}

However, I just can’t let these mixes just sit around ’till next year, so I’m dropping the WMS mixes as a “double-triple” post today and the other two mixes next week.

The upshot of it all, Love is still in the air here at the RIBS kitchen and we have a couple of dishes for you that, although they didn’t make it onto the buffet table for the big event, we think you’ll find very tasty just the same.
