After all of the uptempo, funky stuff of the last couple of weeks, I was in the mood for a little change of pace. This week the mix is one of my “JSOB” mixes, in case you’ve forgotten that’s “Jazz with a Side Order of Blues”. I had started doing these a few months ago and releasing them on Tuesdays but haven’t done one in quite a while. Well, I’m bringing it back but on Thursdays this time to keep everything “under the same roof” so to speak.

    Glad you like the mix. As much as I consider myself a “funk-a-teer”, I do love wallowing in some good ‘ol jazz and/or blues just as much. I’ve been wanting to do something with Sammy for quite a while now. I think folks tend to forget what an all around awesome entertainer he was in ALL areas: singing, dancing, acting, etc. And the Queen, Ms. Aretha can do any and all genres too. As for Bobby “Blue” Bland… he’s been one of my favorites for a loooong time. Unlike most of the really top blues men Bobby didn’t play an instrument, he just mesmerized you you with that unique and distinct voice of his.
