RIBS TPTD: Xquizzyt Soul-Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, O’Jays and Spinners…
Filed under: Funk, RIBS, Rock, Triple Play Thurs-Day, blues, music, podcasts/mixes, soul
Wow, it’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve posted a new mix here. Sorry it’s been so quiet around here and on NetInfoWeb.com lately. Been going through a few things and life is slightly in disarray right now. Nothing earth-shattering, life-threatening or anything like that, but… well let’s just say there are issues to deal with. I’m sure you know what I mean and where I’m coming from.
Anyway, with all of that said… I am happy to be able to steal some time and muster up enough energy to post today’s mix. Actually this is a ‘guest mix’ that was crafted by my good friend the Xquizzyt1. Big “Thanks” go out to you lady for putting together a nice set. Let’s get right to the music as RIBS and the Xquizzyt1 present:
- Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes
- The O’Jays
- The Spinners

Well it was sort of a collaborative effort!!! I can’t take ALL the credit!!! Of course I know “Wake Up Everybody,” and love it… but I never heard “Make a Joyful Noise,” and WHO KNEW that Eddie did “Now that We Found Love”???? I certainly didn’t!!! So thanks for the lesson!!! =) It’s a great mix though, if I do semi-say-so myself. LOL
Actually… “Now That We’ve Found Love” was done originally by The O’Jays in 1973 and later covered by “Third World” in 1979.
I call this music the kinda music that was played when your mama and daddy were still together. LOL!
