Mix number four in our “Jazz with a Side Order of Blues” (JSOB) series is now ready to satiate your Jazz/Blues hunger pains. Remember, JSOB comes your way every two weeks on Tuesdays.

I have to admit, I’m really enjoying this series and creating these mixes. It really allows (i.e. forces) me to delve much more deeply into a genre of music (Blues) that I have always enjoyed but, unlike Funk or Soul/RnB, was not as familiar with as I would have liked to (or should have) been.

Today we feature one of the masters of my favorite Jazz instrument: the saxophone, along with the woman who is billed as the “Queen of the Blues”, and a man who was an instrumental part of the “back to the Blues” movement in the early 80′s (especially with the work he did for Malaco Records).
