RIBS TPTD: Cupid’s Hunt - Old School Slow Jams - Mix 4

The fourth and final mix of the “4 mixes in 4 days” Valentine’s Weekend music marathon here on RIBS.

Well, here it is, we have come to the climax of this particular celebration. And as I relax here and bask in the afterglow of the past fews days’ events I am overcome with that feeling of total relaxation and satisfaction that only the most pleasurable experiences can provide.

I’d like to thank all of the bloggers and podcasters who gave of their time and effort to make the Cupid’s Hunt Podcast event happen. As I have mentioned, it truly was an event that unfolded and was executed far, far better than I could have ever imagined. Just think, it all started with a small, rather innocent question to a fellow podcaster a few weeks ago about whether or not he was going to create a mix for Valentine’s Day. That was followed by a tweet on Twitter and, as the say, the rest is history.

As for this final mix, some folks have inquired as to why I’m doing so many mixes this weekend. Am I crazy? Well, the short answer is, “Yes. Yes I am.” {smile} The truth of the matter is that these songs and these mixes are my own personal time machine. They take me back not only to various times and places and people along the “Soundtrack of My Life”, but to my two best friends in college, the “Garrett Kid” and the “Mighty O”. They especially take me back to that now far away weekend in June of 2006 when the 3 of us reconnected for one more memorable, magic moment (even though physically we were hundreds of miles apart) to talk trash, play music and enjoy one another’s company.

I raise my glass in a toast. A toast to my friends “GK” & “MO”, I love you guys more than words can ever express. A toast to my “Podiverse” peeps, you guys are so important to me, perhaps more than you’ll ever know. And last, but not least, a toast to Love… and all that it does to us and does for us, both good and bad. There really is nothing quite like it.

Now, on to the music…
