RIBS TPTD: Have A “Funky” Xmas…
Christmas time in the Kitchen!
One of the things I love most about the Christmas holidays is the tradition of music that is such a part of this time of year. The traditional music, the Jazz interpretations, and especially the Soul/R&B versions of these songs.
For the next three weeks leading up to the big day itself, Rhythms In Black Satin is going to be cooking up the ‘Sounds of the Season’ for you listening pleasure.
One of my goals when putting this mix together was to select uptempo, soulful Christmas songs that you could dance to. I wanted something that would get you bopping in your seat while you were listening to it. Another important criteria was to (mostly) choose songs that you usually don’t hear a lot during the holiday season. As much as I like Christmas music by the time the big day arrives I am usually sick to death of it because you hear so many of the same songs over and over and over again.
So, with that in mind, I went out and put together this mix with some stuff that hasn’t been played to death every Christmas season, and that’ll allow to get your Xmas spirit and your Funk on at the same time {smile}.
This week we get ya into the Holiday spirit and present to you:

Sent here by Fave, from the Friday Favecast. Similar to this, I made a Christmas Soul mix CD for a friend because we were tired of the standard fare and wanted to mix it up a bit. Nice selection here!

KB! The original creator of “Old School Wednesdays”! I am so happy to actually get a comment from you, of all people. I am so glad you like the mix.
Everything I do here at RIBS was inspired by EJ’s OSW mix that I found back in the Spring of 2006. And since I know that you passed it on to him, well I guess you could say that Rhythms In Black Satin is your second generation offspring! {big smile}
