RIBS TPTD: A Holiday “Double Triple”…
If the NBA can have its ‘Triple Double’ statistic when a player achieves double figures in points, rebounds and assists, I figured we should have something similar here at Rhythms In Black Satin.
Well, just in time for the holiday weekend we debut:
the Triple Play Thurs-Day: Double Triple!
That’s right we have double-dip of triple play mixes for you as you prepare for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Just like a double stack of pancakes, or a double chocolate, double layer cake, or a double dip fudge ripple ice cream cone, this one is full of some gooey goodness that’s sure to warm your spirit and put a smile on your face.
For this week’s double treat we present to you:
First we’ll pump you up with the “funky” mix and then we’ll change up the groove, turn the lights down low, lay you across our black satin sheets and massage your soul with the “mellow” mix. Mmmmmm, I’m starting to feel better already!

[...] You may have heard of a “triple double” (especially if you’re a basketball fan), but what, exactly, is a “Double Triple”? Ahhhh…. that’s the end result of the new RIBS recipe we were telling you about. [...]
Hi! I just stumbled over your site. I like it.
The idea of presentingthe fast and slow side of a group is pretty good.
Thanks for the music.
Inge: Glad you found the site and enjoy the “Double Triple”! I really like the idea and think I will be creating some more in the future. Keep checking back, cause as Grover and Patti say, “The Best Is Yet To Come!” {smile}
Man, a creative gem here! Yet another quality post.
Only thing that sucks for me? It’s about 1′30 too long to be able to burn onto a CD for use in the car (a MUST for me). I use MusicMatch Jukebox. Sucks!
Great post though!
Kev, I think I can help ya out as far as getting these burned onto CD. I’ll hit you up via email.
My My My. You’ve been a busy dude while I’ve been away. I’ve been catching what you’re doing. I’m liking it, my friend. Keep it up.
Hey, hey, hey, RK! Ya know, if I didn’t like you so much I could seriously cuss you out! It’s funny, just the other day I was thinking about you wondering where in the Hell you been since I had not heard from you in a while. Hope all is well in “BrownSpoonville” {smile] and that life is good on your side of the ‘Net. Glad you like the “Double Triple” (there WILL be more in the next few months. BTW… definitely be here on this coming Thursday, I’ve got something good cooking up (hint: one of the “ingredients” is Black Ivory).
Everytime I come across a posting of Rose Royce on a blog, I cross my fingers and hope that someone will post their obscure, single only track on the Prelude label called “Ready For Your Love”. No luck to this day. Any chance that you have it?
By the way, you have a great site!
SB, “Thanks!” for stopping by and glad you enjoy the site. Hmmmmm…. “I’m Ready For Your Love”, eh? Doesn’t ring a bell, but I’ll see if I have it or can track it down.
[...] Since this ‘DT’ wasn’t really planned per say, there is no Funky mix/Mellow mix combination like the inaugural Double Triple mix I did for the Memorial Day weekend. Nope, just two mixes of that “sweet, soul music” by three artists that have provided the background music to many a memorable moment (or two) from my youthful days and have a firm foothold in The Soundtrack Of My Life. [...]
I have the LP “I’m Ready For Your Love” - just have to find a way to convert it to digital.
Yaytee:
Cool! Keep me posted on your progress. Let me know if you need any assistance.
